Vibes

Many people (15+ families?) camp all weekend. Neighbors and friends drop by throughout. Mosquitos and harmless mud wasps are prevalent (sorry). 

You CAN'T shower, bring your dog, put your stuff in the fridge, hang out in the house, or tell everyone to be quiet. 

You CAN make crafts, drink delicious beer, lay in the shade, charge your phone, build things, do as many drugs as you want, stay far away from the people doing drugs, sweat in the sauna, observe feral children at play, make smores, make music, watch nostalgic movies, or whatever else you can dream up.

Transportation

If you're driving in, we'll make space for you to park on-property. Please carpool if possible! If you are taking public transportation, we can arrange pickup at the Trailways Bus Station in New Paltz or the Metro North/Amtrak train station in Poughkeepsie.

Arrive Saturday for lunch. Depart Monday after breakfast. In between:

Food

We'll serve: 

Saturday night is a potluck -- bring something to share! There will be coolers to store things and the grill will be on, but there's no kitchen access.

Please bring your own plates, bowls, cups, and utensils. We'll trying to minimize waste. There'll be a utility sink set up to clean them.

Hygiene

Let's get drrrrty. In order to keep the septic functional (and because our bathroom is undergoing a multi-month renovation that might not be complete by party time), we'll have a toilet trailer on-site. 

Expect not to shower for the time you're here (though of course if you accidentally shit yourself we won't make you live in it). If you want to run in the sprinkler, all yours!

Camping

You know camping -- slightly uncomfortable sleeping, tent gets hot in the morning, there are bugs. If you don't feel comfortable, ask us about places to stay nearby. If you're staying on-property, we're so excited! It'll be like Burning Man. Check What to Bring which reads like a camping trip list.

Kids

Kids at this party run around like a pack of wolves. We'll have some yard games, t-shirt making, a kiddie pool, and we welcome other things to occupy them. Note: No childcare and a trampoline! Danger! Expect some of our friends to stay up quite late, smoke, drink, and play music. It's possible you'll spot a weirdo on mushrooms running through the woods. But kids love that, right? You do what's best for your fam. 

Pets

We have two outdoor cats who will be attending the party for the first time. They will probably be freaked out and stay hidden, and they're sweet and curious and docile. If they get too nosy we'll close 'em in the barn.

In order for all the humans to feel comfortable, please leave your dogs at home. We know a lot of you have dogs and would love to bring your companion but there will just be too many people, too much food, and too much activity for us to feel safe with the tens of pets.
